Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Regional Fire Chief (RFC) is responsible for leading and managing the organization and direction of the Regional District of Central Kootenay (the District) Volunteer Fire Departments in order to prevent and minimize loss of life, property damage, and injuries resulting from emergency incidents. The RFC holds functional responsibility for the operations and administration of Fire Services, which includes training, purchasing, budgeting, volunteer management, and direct supervision of the Regional District Fire Chiefs .
