The City of Lethbridge is currently inviting applications for the position of Deputy Chief of Fire and Emergency Services at the City of Lethbridge. Reporting to the Chief of Fire and Emergency Services, this is an exciting and challenging opportunity, to provide leadership, direction and coordination for the department. Participating in an on-call rotation, assuming command at major emergency incidents as deemed necessary and representing the Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services on regional and provincial committees.
Status: 20 Month Term Position, 37.5 hours weekly
The preferred candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in administration or management is desired.
- Applicants should have a good knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations affecting the performance of a Fire and EMS Service.
- A working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of record management software systems would be beneficial.
- Adaptability and comfort with change
- Advanced organizational skills in successfully managing multiple, time-bound priorities
- An aptitude for problem solving and decision-making
- Personal commitment to lead at the senior management level
- Strong interpersonal skills that are welcoming, collaborative and responsive; with a commitment to excellence in service
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Articulate, concise and tactful communication skills (both written and verbal)
